For the first time in 6 years, Jaida A. Photography brought back the 30 Days of Beautiful Campaign. The purpose of this campaign was to celebrate and empower 30 women for 30 consecutive days with beautiful portraits of themselves. When I initially put out the call for the 30 women, I was not expecting the depth of responses for the question of “Why do you deserve a fiercely feminine photoshoot.” The answers blew me away and humbled me because each of the women featured in this campaign come from all walks of life and are at varying points in their life. These women are wives, mothers, sisters, entrepreneurs, executives and everything in between. Add the typical “superwoman” persona on top of a global pandemic and let’s just say they all truly deserved this opportunity.
After their photoshoot, each woman was also tasked with completing a questionnaire about business, self care, goals and life lessons. Through each blog post you’ll get to see their responses and also just how diverse each of them are. The last 3 weeks of photoshoots was hectic, but all of the ladies were awesome to work with and most definitely Fiercely Feminine!
This campaign also helped me to grow as well. I’m normally a natural light photographer, with most of my photoshoots happening outside and on location, so I challenged myself to become more familiar with studio lighting. I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered it just yet, but I definitely feel much more comfortable! Each woman was captured in front of a white and black background and got to choose a third option of Ankara print, that I’ve accumulated from my travels to Nigeria and South Africa. This definitely upped the ante because every background required lighting modifications.
