I have known Danielle for over 15 years and she is such a sweet soul. We attended Howard Law together (Section 2) and spent a lot of time together during those 3 years. She recently moved back to DC and it was an honor to capture her for the 30 Days of Beautiful campaign. During her photoshoot, we got to catch up over trap music and lots of laughs. Keep reading to learn more about this dynamic woman.

Where is your hometown and how long have you been in the DC metro area?
My hometown is Omaha, Nebraska. I recently moved back to DC (for the third time), after almost 4 years in New Orleans. In total, I’ve lived in DC for almost 8 years.

All about Self-Love

When do you feel the most beautiful?
I feel the most beautiful when:

I feel comfortable in my own skin, with or without makeup; My naturally curly hair is poppin’; I smile or share a hearty laugh with a friend; and I give myself permission to show up, as my full, authentic self.

Do you have a self-care routine? If so, what is it?
I drink warm lemon water first thing in the a.m. I’m notorious for my multi-step skincare routine, the most important of which is sunblock (don’t forget to re-apply!). Embracing and taking care of my natural hair is self care + self love + a revolutionary act.  I try to listen to music, dance, and laugh everyday!

What does being Fiercely Feminine mean to you?
To me, fiercely feminine means being confident, no matter how I express my gender identity. I reject performative femininity. Instead, I embrace my unique personal identity and my defined sense of self. I am a force to be reckoned with. What could be more fiercely feminine than that?!

What is a goal you have been working on?
Devoting as much time and energy to my personal life as I do my professional life.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes.

Finish the statement – I am a woman who…
is not afraid to go first, speak first, to get up and dance first. I recognize my power, and I am not afraid to show it.
