This post is another special one because Latecia is my linesister. She’s been talking about doing a shoot for a while and right when she was ready the pandemic took over. Before I even released the details of the campaign, I let her know that she should apply. This was her first professional photoshoot and a chance for her to see how beautiful she really is. When she arrived for the shoot she became emotional because she felt beautiful, but of course we couldn’t let her mess up her makeup! Keep reading to learn more about Latecia.

Where is your hometown and how long have you been in the DC metro area?
I’m a native Washingtonian raised in Savannah from the age of 8. I have been back in DC almost 20 years.

Are you a mother? If so, how old are your children?
Never imagined NOT being a Mommy, but here we are!

Are you a business owner? If so, tell us what that business is and who it serves.
Not yet, but working on certifications toward becoming a registered parliamentarian.

All about Self-Love

When do you feel the most beautiful?
I had to really think about this to avoid confusing the word with ‘valued’’. I feel the most beautiful when I have fulfilled my promises to myself and when I am surrounded in the stillness of nature.

Do you have a self-care routine? If so, what is it?
Showing up for myself everyday through exercise, prayer and mindfulness minutes. It also looks like a trip to experience my family, as well as meaningful time with loved ones.

What does being Fiercely Feminine mean to you?
FF means being confident in the moment where I am constantly challenging my comfort zone through the rubric of whether the context or situation is “right for me”. I have found that rubric constantly evolving for me in a positive way.

What is a goal you have been working on?
Making good on the promises I made to myself, improving my health and well-being, and being unstoppable…with myself.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Own that my LIGHT is bright, powerful and immersive and has no boundaries. That my existence and how I came to be is divine. And that I am responsible for what I create, absorb and reflect in the world.

Finish the statement – I am a woman who…
Is consistently and repeatedly resilient under circumstances that I have seen crush others.

Anything else we should know?
I live life my fully for the loved ones that are no longer here.
