Sabrina and I met as professional rivals when we would battle each other in court. She was a public defender and I was a prosecutor in Prince George’s County. After court we also clowned because she is an AKA and I’m a Delta. Nevertheless we were always about our business and boss women recognize boss women! Keep reading to learn a little bit more about my fellow Jersey Girl and HUSLer.

Where is your hometown and how long have you been in the DC metro area?
I like to say I’m a citizen of the world.  I grew up in Jamaican, Philly and New Jersey.  I’ve been in the DMV for 17 years now–yikes! My husband says I’m from Maryland now.  LoL  I typically claim Jersey because I went to high school there.  (I know…that’s a lot).

Are you a mother? If so, how old are your children?
Yes. 17, 4, and 4 mo.

Are you a business owner? If so, tell us what that business is and who it serves.
Yes.  I’m the owner and principal attorney at Thompson Legal Group.  We fight for immigrants in the criminal INjustice system!

All about Self-Love

When do you feel the most beautiful?
Dancing to good music especially sounds of the Caribbean (Kompa, Reggae, some Soca), Afrobeats and girl power anthems.

Do you have a self-care routine? If so, what is it?
Yes.  At least once a week I take a half day to go for a long run/walk in nature, followed by  a pedicure or brunch by myself at one of my favorite local restaurants.  Another self-care routine is my  weekly or bi-weekly happy hour with a good good girlfriend.  My daily self-care includes carving out at least a few minutes to do some cycling, yoga, stretching or walk/running.

What does being Fiercely Feminine mean to you?
To me, being Fiercely Feminine means fully embracing my softer side and allowing it to empower me rather than viewing it as some type of disadvantage.  I love the quote “I’m fragile–not like a flower, like a bomb.”  That’s me.  I make a powerful impact.

What is a goal you have been working on?
Just one? LoL  One goal I’ve been working on is to achieve more mindfulness.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Worry less.  Be present.  Enjoy the moment.  Trust the process.

Finish the statement – I am a woman who…
I am a woman who is on a mission.
