Farah

As a recent transplant to the Washington, DC area, Farah applied for the 30 Days of Beautiful campaign because she needed some time to enjoy herself.

Between becoming a new mom and a move across country to help care for her parents, Farah’s last year has been eventful, to say the least.

Where is your hometown and how long have you been in the DC metro area?

My hometown is Chicago, IL. I’ve only been on the DC metro area for a few months.

Are you a mother? If so, how old are your children?

Yes, I am a mother to an amazing little boy, Henri.

Are you a business owner? If so, tell us what that business is and who it serves.

SELF-CARE

When do you feel the most beautiful?

I love getting dressed up. I’m a girlie girl and I love putting on a nice dress, heels and a natural beat, well and sometimes a red lip.

Do you have a self-care routine? If so, what is it?

My self care routine involves a rotation of massage, acupuncture, reiki, facials, and mani/pedis. Acupuncture is by far my favorite way to relax and decompress.

What does being Fiercely Feminine mean to you?

To me, Fiercely Feminine means knowing and being your authentic self and not being afraid to BE YOU, unapologetically.

SETTING GOALS AND PAST REFLECTIONS

What is a goal you have been working on?

Right now, I am working on getting settled in the DMV area and building my network and community similar to what I have in Chicago and Austin.

What is something you are most proud of yourself for?

I am most proud of myself for becoming a mother, it is mostly certainly my life’s dream and I couldn’t be happier.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to take more chances, don’t be afraid, and trust your instincts. Your gut instincts will never steer you wrong.

What does your dream life look like?

My dream life is being surrounded by my family, sincere happiness in whatever form is brought my way, , working to help move social Justice and racial equity forward, and perhaps a sibling for my son.
